Social Listening

Image
The brand that I have selected for this Social Listening blog is Forever 21 because it is a brand I happen to be quite familiar with as I do some of my clothes shopping there from time to time. I also chose it because I have heard some controversial things about it before, like how it went bankrupt back in 2017. Despite that however, I still see their stores open at every mall I go to and people still seem to be buying products from them, myself included. From what I have gathered from social media about what people are saying about it, it seems to be a mix of good and bad. There are lots of people who are excited about new items they are bringing out and how much they love shopping there, and there is others who seem not as satisfied with their items or customer service.  According to Forever 21, their value proposition is "to inspire all customers shopping experience by providing a captivating and exciting store environment with a never-ending flow of fun, on-trend fashion ...

Marketing in the News: Kellogg's Is Making Its Cereal Boxes for Blind and Visually Impaired Consumers

Image
The article that I am interested in writing about is having to do with Kellogg's releasing packaging that will be accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired in the United Kingdom. I find this to be very interesting because this is the first time I have ever heard about a company doing this, and the way they are going about doing it with the use of technology is really intriguing. The article first starts off by talking about a trial that was done in 2020 to test a code that was developed by NaviLens and was put on the packaging of Coco Pops cereal that was displayed on the shelves of Co-Op stores. The code that is put on the packaging allows for smartphones to scan it, and then have the labeling as well as the allergens of the product be played back for the person to listen to. Because the trial was so successful too, the code is going to be added to Kellogg's cereal boxes in the next year. This idea initially came about when there was a meeting between Kellogg...

My Introduction to Marketing

Image
Hello everyone! My name is Molly, I am 19 years old and this is my first year at LBCC. My major is Practical Business Management, and what prompted me to enter the business realm is that I am planning to go to beauty school after attending LBCC for two years. I care very much about being successful, so my plan is to graduate in two years with a degree in business which will hopefully open up a lot of doors for me, especially when I go to beauty school. That is why I am enrolled in this class because it is part of the required classes I need to take in order to get my degree. I am also interested in marketing and I think learning more about it will definitely be beneficial when I start working in a beauty setting, especially when it comes to advertising things like products.  Outside of college, I enjoy spending time playing video games, going to the coast, going for drives in my car, walking my dogs, and spending quality time with family and friends.
